Hair loss treatment for women, Melbourne

Most of the people who walk through our door are women, and women's hair loss is not just men's hair loss on a different head. It looks different, it is driven by different things, and it deserves a proper history rather than a quick glance and a product.

Why women's hair loss is different

Where men tend to recede and lose hair in defined areas, women more often experience diffuse thinning: a gradual loss of density across the top and crown, a part line that widens, a ponytail that feels thinner, while the front hairline is usually preserved. Because it is spread out and slow, it is easy to dismiss, and many women are told for years that it is nothing to worry about. It is worth looking at properly.

Hormones deserve a proper history

Female hair loss is shaped by genetics and hormones, and the hormonal picture is why it often surfaces around perimenopause, PCOS, or after having a baby. That is exactly why we take the time to understand your history rather than jumping to treatment. Where it is useful, we will point you toward blood work through your GP, because iron, thyroid and vitamin D can all quietly drive shedding.

One nurse, one client, unhurried

The studio is deliberately small: one female registered nurse, one client at a time, with appointments long enough to actually talk. You see the same clinician each visit, someone who knows your history. There is no conveyor belt and no pressure to decide on the day.

What your consultation includes

Every first visit includes AI scalp analysis to establish a baseline, a proper history, and a written plan with honest expectations to take home. If treatment would suit you, we explain the options. If it would not, we say so.

Common questions

Women's hair loss, answered

I have been told my thinning is normal. Is it worth coming in?
If you have noticed a widening part, a thinner ponytail or more scalp showing, it is worth a proper look. A scan gives you a clear, specific read rather than reassurance in passing.
Do you only treat female pattern loss?
No. We see shedding after weight loss and childbirth, scalp concerns, and diffuse thinning. The consultation is where we work out what you are dealing with.

Your hair, taken seriously.
